Dear Sir/Madam,

Pensonn Youths Athletic Association wishes to invite your school’s track team to participate in the PYAA’s Nineth Annual All Island Secondary Schools Track Meet better known as the Pensonn Relays. (Sponsored in part by Puma). The meet will commence on Friday, March 3rd and continue throughout the weekend,.ending on Sunday, March 5th. It will be held at the National Stadium, located on Mountain View Avenue, Kingston 6. Each day, the events will last from about 9:00am to 6:00 pm.

The guidelines for the entry of participants are as follows : 1. All participants must have attended their team’s school for a minimum of one term and must have been in training for at least one month previous to the meet. 2. All participants must have had the required medical examination at a maximum of one month prior to the meet. 3. No participant may be entered in more than three events.

Participants will be classified according to age and sex [with the exception of those participating in field events] and shall be placed in either Class 1, 2 or 3. Class 1 consists of athletes who’s ages range from over sixteen to under nineteen, Class 2 consists of those thirteen and older but not yet sixteen and Class 3 consisting of those under the age of thirteen.

The winning team will be determined by the amount of points they obtain. The method for scoring is as follows : Five points are awarded for first place, three points are awarded for second place and one point is awarded for third place.

The first, second and third place runners for each race will be awarded a medal appropriate to their position while all other runners will receive a participatory ribbon. The winning teams will each get their school’s name printed on out infamous “Pensonn Cup” as well as a trophy to keep and a cheque of one hundred thousand dollars that will go towards their school.

We are expecting more than fifty high-schools from all over the island to be participating in the weekend’s events. Therefore, it is important to get your school’s entry form in as soon as possible to help the smooth flow of organization for the event. Please mail in all entry forms to the address mentioned on the letterhead no later than Monday, February 13th.
